Breast Lifts, Reductions, and Reconstruction

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

A Breast lift ("mastopexy") is the ideal way to reverse sagging as a result of pregnancy, weight loss and aging and allow you to have younger, fuller-looking breasts. Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and tightens the breasts by removing excess skin to reshape the breast contour and improve support. An enlarged areola can also be reduced. Breast lift surgery does not significantly change breast size but it can be combined with breast augmentation if a larger size is also the goal. You will be pleased with how Dr. Woodyard can rejuvenate your figure with a breast contour that is youthful and uplifted.

Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty)

Renowned for its high rate of patient satisfaction, breast reduction surgery ("reduction mammaplasty") is the answer for women who suffer physical and emotional discomfort due to excessively large breasts. Symptoms that can reliably be relieved by reduction mammaplasty include: neck, back and shoulder pain, skin irritation, painful strap mark indentation and an impaired ability to lead an active life. Breast reduction is a highly individualized procedure to remove excess fat, breast tissue and skin in order to alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breasts. Reduction mammaplasty is frequently covered by insurance because of the number and severity of symptoms it relieves.

Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Likewise, men with enlarged breasts (a condition known as "gynecomastia") can benefit from male breast reduction. Treatment for gynecomastia frequently is accomplished by liposuction and sometimes also requires the addition of reduction surgery to create an optimally masculine chest contour.

Breast Reconstruction

If one or both breasts have been lost to cancer or injury, breast reconstruction ("reconstructive mammaplasty") can help women experience a new beginning. Dr. Woodyard has extensive experience in advanced reconstruction techniques, allowing her to offer patients greater options for breast restoration. Breast reconstruction can be accomplished by several different techniques and Dr. Woodyard will consider your goals and personal medical history to determine the most promising course of management for you. The creation of a new breast can dramatically improve your self-image, self-confidence and quality of life and Dr. Woodyard has a long history of helping women successfully restore their feminine figures and positive self-images.

Dr. Woodyard is one of the region's leading experts in cosmetic breast surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and has over 18 years of experience.
